With brilliant sunshine over 2,300 visitors passed through the gates at Cockett Police Station and the grounds of neighbouring Dylan Thomas School to catch a glimpse of the work carried out by South Wales Police and its various partner agencies.
Visitors were shown by local officers what happens to prisoners in custody and how crimes are solved using the latest forensic technology.
Police dogs and horses, traffic cars and armed response vehicle demonstrations were a big attraction, whilst mums and dads were given the opportunity to win tickets for short stay at the Village hotel in Cardiff, by completing a series of quiz questions.
The fire service and ambulance service gave a display on how injured people are removed and cut from badly damaged vehicles and treated at the scène prior being taken to hospital
Distinguished guests who mingled amongst the visitors included The High Sheriff of West Glamorgan Mr Rowland Jones. the Lord Mayor of the City and County of Swansea Councillor Richard and the Lady Mayoress, Miss Sian James Labour MP for Swansea East and Val Lloyd AM, Police authority members, Judith Woodman ,Mike Lewis, Bob Lloyd, a number of local councillors, together with Chief Superintendent Mark Mathias Commander of the Western Division.
