Police Special : Conditions of Employment
As a special constable, you will be required to volunteer at least 16 hours per month. You can choose when you work, but try to give your team leader advance notice so they can decide how best to task you.
Traditionally, special constables do not receive pay for their work; the benefits of the role are personal rather than financial. You will be reimbursed for any expenses you incur whilst on duty however, and your uniform will be provided free of charge.
