Trudi joined South Wales Police in 1999, and has been temporary Assistant Chief Constable for the Operational Support portfolio since November 2023.
Trudi has worked in a variety of roles including response and local policing as a Sergeant in Swansea Neath Port Talbot Basic Command Unit (BCU). This was followed by a move and promotion to the Public Protection Department as a Detective Inspector in Mid Glamorgan BCU. She later returned to Swansea Neath Port Talbot to work in CID as a Detective Inspector.
As Chief Inspector, Trudi moved into a new role within Corporate Services then on to a role within the Learning and Development Department in force headquarters.
On promotion in 2019 to Superintendent, Trudi returned to work within Swansea Neath Port Talbot BCU before becoming its commander in November 2020. In August 2023 Trudi was temporarily promoted to Assistant Chief Constable for the Specialist Crime Portfolio. In November 2023, ACC Meyrick moved to the position as Assistant Chief Constable for the Operational Support Portfolio.
In her spare time Trudi enjoys spending time with her family as well as carrying out voluntary work as Deputy Lieutenant of West Glamorgan.
