REQUEST
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request the following information relating to the pension fund administered by or on behalf of South Wales Police:
- A full breakdown of current equity and bond holdings by company name and value, as of the most recent valuation date available.
- Specifically, please confirm the total value currently invested in companies whose primary business is the manufacture, supply, or sale of arms, munitions, or military equipment, including but not limited to Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Raytheon (RTX), Northrop Grumman, Rheinmetall, Babcock International, and General Dynamics.
- Specifically, please confirm the total value currently invested in fossil fuel extraction, production, or exploration companies, including but not limited to Shell, BP, ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, and Equinor.
- Whether the fund has adopted any responsible investment, ethical investment, or exclusion policy, and if so, please provide a copy or link to the relevant policy document.
If data for points 2 and 3 is not held in the format requested, please provide the most recent Statement of Investment Principles (SIP) or equivalent document showing asset allocation by sector or fund manager.
RESPONSE
We consulted with our Corporate Finance Department who have advised that South Wales Police do not hold this information. The Police Pension fund is an unfunded scheme and therefore has no investments.
