Liam Walters, 26, of Pencoed, has been charged with the murder of 58-year-old David Rogers.
He will appear before Magistrates on Wednesday, March 4.
David died in hospital on Monday, March 2, where he had been in a critical condition since being admitted following the incident on Saturday, February 28. His family are being supported at this time.
Detectives investigating the murder are continuing their appeal and anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Felindre Road, Pencoed between 12.30am and 4.30am on Saturday, February 28, is urged to make contact if they have not yet spoken to officers.
