The Safety Bus happened to be nearby when a call came into the control room for assistance in St Mary Street.
Kane Evans, 29, was arrested by police in Bristol Airport on January 29, 2026, where he had returned from a holiday in Cyprus.
This takes the total number seized to more than 600 since the summer.

Operation Minerva has now launched, strengthening our commitment to tackling violence against women and girls.
As part of this operation, plain-clothed officers are patrolling the city centre to proactively identify and respond to predatory behaviour. This approach helps us intervene early, support those who may be at risk, and take appropriate action to keep our community safe.

Daily patrols are made by Central NPT and the Council Street Wardens to address ASB within the city centre. Business have highlight to neighbourhood officers a reduction in ASB. Several person's who have been responsible for ASB have been issued criminal protection notices preventing them from entraining the city centre. ASB will remain a priority for the neighbourhood team.
