Kane Evans, 29, was arrested by police in Bristol Airport on January 29, 2026, where he had returned from a holiday in Cyprus.

PCSO’s have reduced the time it takes for CCTV to be obtained for Officers to be able to ID the offenders.
PCSO’s have been working along side MRS Communications to set up a new scheme called shopnet. This scheme links all the Penarth business including the Police to a radio system to communicate between one another to tackle shoplifting.
We will carry on with regular meetings with the local shops.

Regular meetings with shop managers to encourage reporting to South Wales Police via 101.
In March we are hosting the first Business Watch meeting with the Vale Council to encourage open conversations relating to shoplifting.
Weekly ward walks with The newly appointed Council Warden are taking place to check-in on the local businesses.
There is an Operation in place to tackle shoplifting. This will include plain clothes operations and hi-visibility patrols.
