Sandfields man jailed after Class A drugs operation was discovered by police

A man from Neath Port Talbot has been jailed for the supply of Class A drugs.

35-year-old Marcus Howell, from Sandfields, was subject of a warrant due to intelligence that he was involved in drug supply. During the warrant, Howell was found in possession of a quantity of cash and a mobile phone, before quantities of controlled drugs and bladed articles were also located by officers.

Testing found that the drugs were cocaine and amphetamine.

On May 5, Howell pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession of cocaine attempting to possess with intent to supply amphetamine, and possession of criminal property.

He has today been sentenced to 45 months in prison.

Detective Sergeant Samuel Stanway said:

“Marcus Howell involved himself in the supply of Class A drugs to get rich quick, and turned a blind eye to the dangers these drugs pose to anyone who consumes them.

“There are far too many people like Marcus who have turned to Class A drugs as what they see is the easy route to financial riches. It is in fact, as Marcus Howell has now found out, an even easier route to book yourself a stay in prison.”
